Asus Zephyrus G16 Review: The Best Gaming Laptop of 2023?: capcutsoftware

Hey what's up everyone so today I have the new 2023 edition of the zephrus g16 which is the latest entry in the Beloved Rog zephrus lineup of gaming laptops from Asus it's a 16 inches gaming laptop that replaces last year's 15 inches refresh g15 although that's not the only thing Asus has changed this time while the company always went with an AMD processor for this lineup the Z fresh g16 gets an Intel CPU instead anyway you can configure this laptop with up to core i7 3900 at CPU while my unit has core i7 it costs around 1300 in the US or some 2 lakh 60 000 rupees here in Nepal whereas in India I could only find the core I9 model which costs like 1 lakh 80 000 Indian rupees okay let's Design, Build, I/O talk about the design first here actually nothing much has changed except for a slightly thicker chassis Asus has actually managed to fit a larger 16 inches display in the same 15 inch body as last year's model its build quality is a mix of magnesium alloy on the chassis and plastic on the bottom so this laptop feels pretty solid overall there's a little bit of flex on the lid but it's nothing concerning under everyday usage another thing I really like about its design is that it's not very flashy or overbearing so taking it to college or a work setting is not going to turn a lot of heads except maybe for this shiny colorful finish at the back but it's not as flashy as the anime

Matrix display on the smaller Z fresh G14 so I actually don't mind that plus even though this is a proper proper gaming laptop it weighs just 2 kgs Which is far more lightweight compared to 16 inches gaming machines out there so carrying it around in my backpack has not been that big of a problem that's it I do have a couple of minor complaints about this classic design first there are these pores on the lid itself it does look cool at first glance but I fear it will get clogged with dust and dirt in the long run and secondly its

The port layout is not the best either the Z fresh g16 does have a rich IO selection I'll give it that but most of them are placed on the left so when plugging in the charging cable and peripherals like a mouse and a headphones on your gaming sessions things get crowded pretty quickly here so I really hope Asus finds a way to fix this in the next iteration [Music] Performance, gaming, benchmarks, thermals moving on one of the main reasons I was so pumped to test the z-fresh g16 is because that this is the first RTX 40 series laptop to arrive in our studio and the one I have with me brings a beefed up

RTX 4060 with a 100-watt tgp via Nvidia's Dynamic boost as for the CPU it is powered by Intel's latest 13 gen Raptor Lake processor alongside 16 gigs of RAM and a terabyte of PCIe 4.0 SSD but for some reason Asus has included ddr4 memory here which is weird because almost all gaming laptops these days ship with the newer ddr5 Ram instead on top of this one of the two sodium slots is also soldered onto the motherboard so even though the Z fresh g16 can take up to 48 gigs of ram in total to maintain dual

Channel mode you'll be limited to 32 GB memory only anyway with its newer generation CPU and GPU the Asus Z4 g16f effortlessly handles everything you throw at it that's pretty obvious be it CPU or GPU Centric workloads it has managed to keep up with my daily routine perfectly fine but there is one big problem with the RTX 40 series mobile GPUs at least the lower tier ones like the RTX 4050 4060 and 4070. so typically we can tell how powerful a GPU is based on its tgp AKA total

Graphics power right and the higher the tgp the more powerful it is however those three RTX 40 series GPUs behave very differently from what we've usually seen for some reason it seems that Nvidia has set voltage limitations on the RTX 4050 4060 and 4070 mobile GPUs and according to most tests I've seen online the performance of these GPUs begin flat-lining at around 100 Watts meaning you won't necessarily get better performance especially gaming performance just because it's a high TTP GPU and yeah when it comes to gaming only in cyberpunk 2077's rigorous 1440p test at ultra settings did it momentarily hit the advertised 120 watt otherwise I found that this 120 watt RTX 4060 mostly settled around 100 205 Watts only even so the Cephas g16 is barely able to handle cyberpunk 2077 in those settings dialing it down to 1080p does improve the gameplay a bit but I was still only getting average results the game changer for me however was its DLS is 3.0 support in case you didn't know dlss is this

Graphics rendering technique that delivers a smoother gaming experience by rendering a game at lower resolution and then upscaling it using AI whereas DLS 3.0 version is exclusive to the itx40 series and instead of just upscaling it can generate entire frames in between traditionally rendered frames for even higher FPS it's only available on a handful of games right now with cyberpunk 2077 being one of them and turning it on effectively triple the average FPS at both 1080P and 1440p other than that playing some relatively resource Hungry Games this laptop is more than capable of delivering good results at 1080p resolution in all titles like CS go GTA 5

Borderlands 3 and Forza Horizon 5. at 1440ps well the Z fresh g16 delivers more than playable 60fps average or most of these games now I know most of you will be tempted to game at 1440p on this thing since it also has aqhd display so there you go that's absolutely possible on the zebras g16 for the best result I played all the games in turbo mode and after some time I noticed that the fan noise would get very loud whereas the surface temperature on the keyboard got as high as 50 degree celsius the heat would mostly be concentrated in the middle of the keyboard while the wasd key area only got slightly warm so ultimately long hours of gaming is also pretty comfortable on this laptop now getting

Display to the display it's pretty nice my unit comes with aqhd resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate while it is configurable with a 165 Hertz full HD display too other than that it is also g-sync compatible and boasts an incredible 100 DCI P3 color coverage thus making it a perfect display for Content creators as well it has Dolby Vision HDR as well which when complemented with the laptop 6 speaker audio setup makes for a terrific content consumption experience as for brightness Asus claims that the Z fresh g16 can hit 500 nits at best although it only came at around 450 nits in artists moving on I also love the

Keyboard ,Trackpad & Webcam keyboard on this thing the keys are spaciously laid out and they have a nice travel distance which makes typing on it a joy it is RGB backlit as well but only with single zone backlighting instead of per key RGB and of course you can customize it all via the

Armory crate and uh this is also where you can access different performance profiles for the laptop the zebras g16 trackpad is surprisingly great too it's big and it's responsive to all sorts of gestures so unless I was gaming I never felt the need to plug in a mouse for video calls and online streaming there is a 720p camera on top here but as with most gaming laptops its quality is just meh that's it it does have an

IR sensor for Windows hello Biometrics which works perfectly fine finally talking about the Battery and charging battery you get a big 90 watt hour cell in here and it lasted me around 5 hours on average in my casual everyday work like writing blogs and using Photoshop at times so overall I must say that's not too bad for a gaming laptop so

Verdict Summing it all up the new ace g16 2023 is a pretty decent 16 inches gaming laptop, especially for those who want something that's easy on the backpack compared to its competition like the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i and

The Predator Triton 16. the zephyrus g16 is actually pretty competitively priced too but if you're looking for the absolute best value for money then you should definitely be checking out deals on last year's zifrush g15 or M16

Instead at the time of making this video both of them are available at a much cheaper price whereas you can even find a more powerful 3070 TI powered Z fresh g15 in this range so everybody that was all for this review I hope you liked it and if you did don't forget to give it a thumbs up and while you're there don't forget to subscribe to our Channel and hit the notifications Bell as well till then I'm Pratham Adhikari and I will see you in my next video
